An introduction

I’m mentaly ill. I’m also a 29 year old woman, living in Yorkshire and desperate to get the most fun and happiness out of my edad41163fa0544622308914bb2070b9life, and give it to others, and to work to my full potential as a writer/editor and have the emotional capacity to riase a secure, loving family. I live with my boyfriend who I can put through hell from time to time, and I’m surrounded by supportive (and some not so supportive) friends and family.

In the last five years I’ve been diagnosed with anorexia, depression, anxiety, and finally Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). With a lot of help I’ve kicked the anorexia’s bottom (although there are still challenges to work on there) and I am about to embark on a two (to three) year trial to work out the effects of group schema therapy on BPD. I want to keep a record of my own involvement and thoughts, as well as my work on challenging mental illness within my community.

I’m starting now, today, right here and I hope you’ll join me on my journey – I can’t promise it will be easy – and that I can be of some use to someone out there.

  2. I’ll follow your journey. Borderline personality disorder (disgusting language) is (alongside other personality disorder diagnosis) one of the most misunderstood illnesses. I first read about schema about 10 years ago, find it really interesting. Well done for tackling it head on.
